A Buddhist priest in Indonesia has died after being struck by a car while visiting a monastery.
Mukhindar Moklobur died early Sunday in the city of Lompoc, according to a statement from the Lompocho District Administration.
Moklopomc is located in the southern province of Sarawak, about 20 kilometers (12 miles) from Jakarta.
It’s a popular destination for Buddhist pilgrims.
Makarul Gokul, a local Buddhist monk, was driving along a road in a residential neighborhood when he was struck by the vehicle, said the statement.
The crash took place in front of the Lompoc Buddhist temple, said a statement by the Loomar district administration.
Mouklobul was rushed to a nearby hospital and later died, the statement said.
The accident is under investigation, and police are investigating.
